les Paul Jimmy Page number Two

This is a 2009 pre-owned Gibson Custom Shop Jimmy Page “Number Two” Les Paul. The Page “Number Two” is modeled after a 1959 Les Paul Standard that was purchased by Page in 1973 after years of searching for another exceptional Les Paul to go along with his “Number One”. The guitar underwent some modifications while in Jimmy’s possession, including work to the neck shape to match the feel of his Number One, and extensive work to the electronics. With the use of a push/pull pot on each of the guitar’s four standard controls, plus two push-button switches hidden beneath the pickguard, a switching system was created for coil splitting, series/parallel, and phase-reverse options for both pickups. Page modified a legendary instrument to have even more tonal possibilities.

The Custom Shop version was recreated with extensive examination of Page’s original guitar, with final approval of the prototypes coming from Page himself. It is aged beautifully by Tom Murphy to match every nick and scratch on the original. This instrument was produced in a strict limited edition, this is #39 of only 100 offered in the aged finish.

It has been kept in unplayed, collectors condition by our customer, doesn’t appear to have left the case much if at all. All the extras are included; original hardshell case, certificate of authenticity, care kit, and paperwork. It even includes the original shipping tags.
